Social Madness Contest

Today marks the first day of competition for more than 100 local companies in the Capital Region that are eager to determine which will garner most social media attention.

Companies are competing against others in the same size category, and the local winner will be the one that gains the most Facebook likes, Twitter followers and LinkedIn connections.

Social Madness, hosted by The Business Journals and sponsored by Capital One Spark Business, is a one-of-a-kind social media competition highlighting companies of all sizes with the best social media strategies in a tournament-style challenge

The Business Journals has developed a scoring algorithm based on a weighting of the following activities:

Votes on

Net new LinkedIn corporate page connections

Net new Facebook corporate page likes ClarityManagementAdvisors

Net new corporate Twitter handle followers @ClarityAdvisors

On June 19, the top eight vote getters in the market will be placed in a bracket to compete against other local companies, with local winners announced on July 17.
All 43 local winners and the top 21 runner-ups in each of the three size groups will advance to the national competition, which starts on July 24 and culminates Sept. 11, when three national winners are announced. A charitable donation will be made on behalf of the three national winners.

We have chosen Hannah's Hope Fund for our charity to support and donate the winnings too. Hannah is an eight year old Rexford, NY girl who was diagnosed in 2008 with Giant Axonal Neuropathy (GAN). GAN is a rare, genetic disorder that slowly takes away one's ability to walk, use one's hands, speak, swallow and is terminal usually by the time they reach their 3rd decade of life. Let’s help Hannah and the other children affected by this disease. Please "LIKE" Hannah’s Hope for GAN Facebook page, and share on your own page so others can learn about this Foundation. Thank you!
